For self-prepared filers, you receive a rejection after filing the MS 83-105 related to the following issues, please review the information below to understand and resolve the error.
Expected Errors
- Required Paid Preparer PTIN or SSN Not Transmitted (If Not Paid Preparer,Enter "Self Prepared", Select "Preparer SSN", and Enter 999999
- The Preparer Firm Name was not transmitted and the Return was not marked as'Self Prepared'
- The Preparer's Address was not transmitted
- The Preparer's Phone Number was not transmitted
Resolution
- In C-TRAC, open the MS 83-105
- Click on the Signer Information page
- Check the "Paid Preparer" checkbox
- Save the return
- Uncheck the "Paid Preparer" checkbox
- Save the return
- Refresh the return
Expected Outcome
You should now be able to download a copy of the updated XML file that will be sent to the taxing authority. In the updated file, you should see the following data group:
