How to Resolve IRS Rejection, Missing Data: 'PhoneNum' in 'PreparerPersonGrp'

IRS Rejection Reason:

Missing Document: If 'DiscussWithPaidPreparerInd' in 'BusinessOfficerGrp' in the Return Header has a choice of "Yes" indicated, then 'PhoneNum' in 'PreparerPersonGrp' must have a value.

RuleNum: R0000-017-01

Issue: The client answered "Yes" to the question, "May the IRS discuss this return with the preparer shown above", but did not include a phone number in the Business Officer Section

Resolution:

1. Navigate to Basic Data -> General Information -> Business Officer Section
2. Input the Business Office, Phone Number
3. Hit the "Save" button in the Tools bar
4. Resubmit your form
   
   
   
   
   
   

Note: It is best practice to fill out all of the Business Officer fields to avoid possible IRS rejection related to that section.
