[State Forms](https://support.k1x.io/990-tracker?hsLang=en-us#state-forms) September 25, 2026 # State E-File Rejection: "invalid child element 'TransmissionDetail'… expected: 'FinancialResolution'" ## Why state returns reject without the File Forms acknowledgment, and how to fix it **Applies to:** All state e-filed returns ### **Issue** When you e-file a state return, it may be rejected with this message: > The element 'AuthenticationHeader' in namespace '[http://www.irs.gov/efile](http://www.irs.gov/efile)' has invalid child element 'TransmissionDetail' in namespace '[http://www.irs.gov/efile](http://www.irs.gov/efile)'. List of possible elements expected: 'FinancialResolution' in namespace '[http://www.irs.gov/efile](http://www.irs.gov/efile)'. ### **Cause** The acknowledgment for the state form in the File Forms screen hasn't been completed. Until this box is checked, the return file is missing information the state requires, so the return is rejected when it's transmitted. ### **Resolution** 1. Go to **Tax Forms → Review & File Forms → File Forms**. 2. Find the **state form** that was rejected and click the **green arrow** next to it. 3. Check the **acknowledgment** box. 4. **Rerun validation** on the return. 5. Once validation passes, **retransmit** the return.
