Why Was My Return Rejected?

Question:

My return was rejected but there was no rejection reason in the email. How can I find out why my return was rejected?

Answer:

Download the rejection acknowledgment on the File Forms workflow in Step 4. Click the acknowledgment icon - the dark gray icon with the down arrow .

The information in the rejection XML will provide a detailed reason.

Here is an example from a Florida FL 1120 submission. The <ErrorMessageTxt> will provide the reason for the rejection. The Rule Number <RuleNum> is also provided and can be helpful in resolving the rejection error.
