Missing Data: An XML document that represents a binary attachment must have a valid reference to an attached file.

RuleNum: R0000-058-01

Issue: This rejection references the e-file attachment(s). The attachment(s) was not received by the IRS.

Resolution:

Review your attachments and try the following:

  1. Shorten the name of the attachment.
  2. Remove spaces in the name of the attachment.
  3. Remove special characters in the name of the attachment.
  4. If you need to change the file name of a PDF, delete it, make the change, then reattach it.
