K1x Release: K1 Creator - 04/23/2026
Check out the following changes that have been introduced as part of this K1x release.
What Changed
Projects Dashboard
-
Projects Dashboard — A redesigned dashboard now lists all projects with filtering by Tenant and Tax Year, a search bar, and a paginated table showing Entity Name, Client ID, investor count, Tax Year, and Due Date. Each project row includes actions to Manage Users, Rollover, or Delete the project. The Manage Users action supports adding and removing users directly from the dashboard.
Project Setup
-
New Project Modal — When creating a project, you can now set the Entity Name, Client ID, Tax Year, Tenant, and Due Date all in one step.
-
One Entity Per Project — Projects are now limited to a single entity, simplifying the setup and packaging workflow. Existing projects have been automatically migrated.
-
Entity Information Page — The "Include Line 20T in taxable income" setting has moved to the Entity Information page, just below the Address Information section, so all key entity configuration is in one place.
K-1 Builder
-
Renamed: Scenario Builder → K-1 Builder — The "Scenario Builder" page has been renamed to "K-1 Builder" throughout the product.
-
Simplified Navigation — Federal, State, and International data entry are now separate pages in the left-hand navigation under K-1 Builder, replacing the previous tab layout.
-
Improved Entry Flow — K-1 Builder now opens directly to the data input grid. Use the new "+ Add Scenario" button at the top of the page when you need to create a scenario.
-
Refresh Button — The "Save and Refresh" button has been replaced with a Refresh icon. Your data continues to save automatically.
Statements
-
Statements Page — Scenario selection has been removed from the Statements page for a cleaner experience.
-
Statement Editor — The non-functional "Associate Line" option has been removed from the Statement Editor.
Investor Associations
-
Associations Tab — Imported investors are now automatically associated to the entity — no manual selection required. A new "Duplicate row" action makes it easier to manage multi-line investors. Clicking an investor now opens a unified details page where you can edit investor-level, association-specific, and jurisdiction-specific information in one place.
K-3 International
-
K-3 Part 1 (Boxes 10 & 13) — Partner Upstream Loans, Partner Downstream Loans, and Box 13 have been updated to the new table/grid layout, consistent with other K-3 sections and aligned to the IRS PDF structure.
Other Improvements
-
Rounding Warning — A warning now appears after K-1 generation if rounding exists but no rounding investor has been designated, prompting you to assign rounding before finalizing the package.
-
Scenario Deletion Guard — K1Creator will now prevent you from deleting a Scenario that is linked to an existing K-1 package, with a message explaining how to proceed.
-
Client ID — The "Billing Identifier" field has been renamed to "Client ID" throughout the product.
Fixes (Bugs / Stability)
Allocation Code
-
Profit % / Loss % / Capital % Checkboxes — Fixed an issue where unchecking a percentage checkbox did not remove the value from the regenerated PDF, or caused a package generation error, for certain states. Unchecking any percentage checkbox now correctly clears the value and generates the package successfully for all states.
Statement Editor
-
Investor Name Overflow — Fixed an issue where selecting an investor with a long name blocked the Statement Preview button. The Preview button is now always accessible.
