Partial Integrations - CCH - Tax Year 2025

Introducing Partial Integrations — an optional enhancement to CCH integrations that allows you to control which categories of data are sent and updated in CCH.

Overview

Supported for Tax Year 2025 and forward, Partial Integrations gives you greater control over how data is integrated into CCH Axcess.

Partial Integrations supports all form types currently available within the CCH integration. It does not introduce new mappings, but applies across existing supported forms.

Instead of sending all data at once, you can choose which categories to include in each integration. This allows you to better align your integration process with your review and filing workflow.

Key Benefits

  • Flexibility to control which data is sent and updated in CCH

  • Ability to stage integrations based on review readiness

  • Reduced rework and cleanup in CCH returns

  • Better alignment with internal workflows and timelines

  • No change to existing workflows if no selections are modified

How Partial Integrations Works

Partial Integrations controls what data is sent and updated during an integration.

Key Behavior

  • Selected categories → data is sent and may overwrite existing values in CCH

  • Unselected categories → no data is sent, and existing values in CCH remain unchanged

  • All data remains in K1 Aggregator, regardless of your selections

Partial Integrations controls what data is updated during an integration. It does not act as a removal tool for data already present in CCH.

Example:
If “States” is unselected, state data will not be updated during the integration. However, any existing state data already present in CCH will remain unchanged.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Select Investments for Integration

  • Navigate to your integration-ready instance in K1 Aggregator

  • Select the investments you want to send to CCH

2. Confirm Investment Selection

  • Review and confirm the selected investments

  • Proceed to the Partial Integrations page

3. Choose What Data to Send

On the Partial Integrations page, you will see four categories:

  • Federal – send or skip all federal data

  • States – send or skip data by selected states

  • 199A – send or skip all Section 199A data

  • K-3 – send or skip all K-3 data

Default Behavior

All categories are selected by default.

If no changes are made:

All available data for the selected investments will be sent to CCH, consistent with standard integration behavior.

Important Notes

  • Your selections apply to all investments included in the integration batch

  • Selections cannot be configured per investment within the same integration run

4. Customize Your Integration

  • Deselect a category to prevent that data from being updated in CCH

  • Selected categories will be sent and may overwrite existing data

State Selection

  • You can choose specific states instead of sending all

  • The list of states is dynamically generated based on selected investments

5. Complete the Integration

  • Continue through the remaining steps (foreign forms selection, validation, etc.)

  • Send data to CCH as usual

Data Retention

  • Data not sent to CCH remains fully available in K1 Aggregator

  • No data is deleted from K1 Aggregator based on your selections

FAQ

General Questions

Q: When is this feature available?
A: Partial Integrations is available for Tax Year 2025 and forward.

Q: Will new forms be mapped to CCH as a result of this?
A: No. Partial Integrations introduces flexibility in how data is sent, but does not change existing mappings.

Q: Is this feature required?
A: No. Partial Integrations is completely optional. If no changes are made, all data will be sent as it is today.

Q: What happens to data I don’t send to CCH?
A: Data remains fully available in K1 Aggregator and is not deleted. If a category is not selected, that data will not be updated in CCH during the integration, and any existing values in CCH will remain unchanged.

Q: Can I send data later that I initially held back?
A: Yes. You can run another integration and select those categories to send at a later time.

Q: Does this change my existing workflow?
A: Only if you choose to use it. If you proceed without making changes, the integration behaves exactly as it always has.

Category-Specific Questions

Q: How does Federal data work?
A: If selected, federal data will be sent and may overwrite existing values in CCH. If not selected, no updates will be made, and existing values will remain unchanged.

Q: How does Section 199A work?
A: Section 199A follows the same behavior as Federal. Selected = sent and updated. Not selected = no changes.

Q: How does K-3 work?
A: K-3 follows the same behavior. Selected = sent and updated. Not selected = no changes.

Q: How does State selection differ?
A: State selection allows more granular control. The list of states is dynamically generated based on your selected investments, and you can choose which states to send and update in CCH.

Q: What happens if I unselect a state?
A: Data for that state will not be updated in CCH during the integration. Any existing data for that state will remain unchanged.

Q: Why are certain states showing in my list?
A: The list of states is generated based on the investments selected for integration. Only states with activity will appear.

Workflow and Timing Questions

Q: When should I use Partial Integrations?
A: Use Partial Integrations when:

  • You’re still reviewing certain categories of data

  • You want to stage integrations over time

  • You want to avoid rework in CCH

  • You’re coordinating across multiple reviewers or timelines

Common scenarios include:

  • You have state activity, but no state taxable income is allocated to the partner, so those states are not needed in the return

  • You do not need K-3 data included for the current filing scenario

  • You want to send federal data first, and states later after review

  • You expect certain data to change and want to avoid overwriting CCH prematurely

Q: Can I integrate the same investment multiple times?
A: Yes. You can run multiple integrations for the same investments. Newly selected data will update CCH accordingly.

Technical Questions

Q: What happens if I deselect everything?
A: You will not be able to proceed. At least one category must be selected.

Q: Does this affect my data in K1 Aggregator?
A: No. Partial Integrations only controls what data is sent and updated in CCH. All data remains intact in K1 Aggregator regardless of your selections.

Q: Does this work with foreign forms selection?
A: Yes. If applicable, you will proceed to foreign forms selection after making your Partial Integration selections, as part of the normal workflow.

Q: Can I see a history of what I’ve sent?
A: Integration history should be tracked using your standard processes.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

Issue: I don’t see the Partial Integrations step

  • Confirm that CCH Axcess is selected as the integration option. The Partial Integrations step will only appear when using the CCH integration workflow

  • Ensure investments are selected

  • Refresh and retry

Issue: Data in CCH does not match expectations

  • Confirm which categories were selected

  • Remember:

    • Selected = updated

    • Unselected = unchanged

  • Consider whether data, which was unchanged, may have already existed in CCH from a previous integration
  • Run another integration if updates are needed

Issue: Why didn’t something get removed from CCH?

  • Partial Integrations does not remove existing data

  • It controls what data is updated during each integration

  • Existing data will remain unless updated in a future integration

Summary

Partial Integrations allows you to control what data is updated in CCH during each integration:

  • Selected = sent and updated

  • Unselected = no change to existing data

  • All data remains in K1 Aggregator

This approach gives you flexibility to stage integrations, reduce rework, and align your workflow with your review process — without impacting your underlying data.
